The Brooklyn Nets have reached an agreement with guard/forward Kendall Brown on a two-way contract, per NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Brown, selected with the 48th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, spent his first two seasons with the Indiana Pacers. Initially, he played on a two-way contract before transitioning to a standard deal.
However, the 6-foot-7 swingman was waived by Indiana in October and subsequently saw his G League rights acquired by the Long Island Nets later that month.
Since joining Brooklyn’s G League affiliate, Brown has thrived on the court, playing in 34 total Tip-Off Tournament and regular season games. He has impressed with averages of 16.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game over 34.6 minutes of action.
His shooting splits have been exceptional, with Brown converting at a .565 rate from the field, .410 from three-point range, and .750 from the free-throw line.
The Nets are currently the only NBA team with an open two-way slot available, meaning no additional roster move will be necessary to accommodate Brown. This slot was opened up when Brooklyn promoted Tyrese Martin to the team’s standard roster last week.
Once finalized, Brown will join Reece Beekman and Tosan Evbuomwan in holding down the Nets’ two-way positions.
