The Nets have re-signed guard Patty Mills and center Nic Claxton, the team announced in a press release.
Agent Steven Heumann told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN that Mills is receiving a two-year deal worth $145.5 million.
“Patty is an integral part of what we do both on and off the court, and an important veteran presence in our locker room,” Nets GM Sean Marks said. “Coming off one of his best seasons as a pro, we’re thrilled for Patty to return to the Nets.”
Meanwhile, Claxton landed a two-year, $20 million deal, Wojnarowski reported.
“Nic is an ascending player who has only begun to scratch the surface of what he’s capable of on both ends of the court,” Marks said. “With his defensive versatility and developing offensive skillset, we believe Nic has a bright future ahead of him and we’re looking forward to his continued growth in Brooklyn.”
The Nets, of course, are in the middle of a hectic offseason, as Kevin Durant has requested a trade and seemingly has his heart set on the Suns, as we relayed here. Word is, they are also looking to deal Kyrie Irving (latest here).
Already this offseason, the Nets acquired forward Royce O’Neale in a trade with the Jazz and signed former Pacers small forward T.J. Warren (full story).
