Nets director of scouting Matt Riccardi is leaving for a front-office role with the Mavericks, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Riccardi, 36, has been with the Nets for 13 years, and has served as GM of the Long Island Nets of the G League.
As relayed by Nets Daily, he once pushed for the team to sign guard Spencer Dinwiddie, now a member of the Mavericks. Riccardi grew up near Dallas.
He becomes the second member of Brooklyn’s front office/coaching staff to depart the club this offseason, joining assistant coach Jordan Ott, who left for the same position with the Lakers.
“Riccardi joins Jason Kidd, Sean Sweeney, Kidd’s assistant coach, and capologist Andrew Baker as former Nets front office staff who left Brooklyn for Dallas,” Nets Daily wrote.
Nets GM Sean Marks is expected to replace Riccardi between now and the start of the season.
