The Nets are signing free agent center/forward Harry Giles to a one-year contract, agent agent Daniel Hazan told Chris Haynes of TNT/Bleacher Report.
While details weren’t revealed, it’s safe to say the deal is non-guaranteed and likely contingent on Giles making the roster. Odds are it is also for the veteran’s minimum.
Giles, 25, last appeared in the NBA in 2020-21, when he played 38 games for the Trail Blazers and averaged 2.8 points. He spent the previous two seasons before that with the Kings, who landed him via the No. 20 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Giles carries career averages of 5.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 51 percent shooting.
Nic Claxton, Day’Ron Sharpe and Noah Clowney are among the other Nets big men. Brooklyn also recently signed forward/center Trendon Watford.
