The Nets intend to waive guard/forward DeAndre’ Bembry following Thursday’s big trade with the 76ers, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
In case you missed it, the Nets sent guard James Harden and forward Paul Millsap to the 76ers for guard/forward Ben Simmons, center Andre Drummond, guard Seth Curry and a first-round pick.
Bembry, 27, has appeared in 48 games with Brooklyn, averaging 5.8 points and 3.2 rebounds. His strong defensive play earned him a partially guaranteed contract and he is likely to draw interest after clearing waivers.
“If Bembry goes unclaimed, Brooklyn will be on the hook for his full $1,669,178 cap hit,” noted Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors. Bembry has also spent time with the Hawks and the Raptors.
