Free agent forward Nic Batum is returning to the Clippers on a two-year, $22 million contract, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Batum declined his $3.3 million option earlier in the week to enter free agency and rejoin the Clippers on a larger deal. That is exactly what he is getting.
Batum, 33, averaged 8.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 59 games this past season, his second with the Clippers. He spent time with the Hornets and Trail Blazers before that.
Originally drafted by the Rockets with the No. 25 overall pick in 2008, Batum has been a solid shooter and defender alongside Kawhi Leonard (when healthy) and Paul George.
“Batum has had a career resurgence over the last two years in LA,” RealGM wrote. “Since joining the Clippers, the veteran wing has averaged 8.2 points and 4.5 rebounds, while putting up 46/40/76 shooting splits.”
