Jokic said he’s open to playing with Doncic but only on the Nuggets.

Jokic and Doncic are close friends. They were talking all weekend in Indiana during All-Star weekend. It would be incredible to watch the two superstars play together on the Nuggets.

However, the odds of that happening are low. The Mavericks will not trade Doncic unless he requests a trade and there are no signs that Luka is upset in Dallas.

The Mavericks signed Doncic to a five-year, $215 million extension in August 2021. Doncic can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2026 if he declines his player option for the 2026-27 season worth $48.9 million.

A five-time All-Star, Doncic is averaging 34.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 9.5 assists this season while shooting 49.2% from the field, 37.5% from beyond the arc and 77.7% from the free-throw line. He has 30 double-doubles and 10 triple-doubles.

Meanwhile, Jokic is averaging 26.1 points, 12.0 rebounds and 8.9 assists while shooting 57.7% overall, 35.2% from 3 and 81.3% from the foul line. The two-time MVP has 44 double-doubles and 15 triple-doubles.

All signs point toward Jokic spending his entire career with the Nuggets, who won the NBA championship last season against the Miami Heat.

Denver signed Jokic to a five-year, $276 million extension in July 2022. The Joker can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2027 if he declines his 2027-28 player option worth $62.8 million.

Both Doncic and Jokic will be in the Hall of Fame one day. It will be fascinating to see how many titles both players end their careers with. Jokic already has one, while Doncic is still looking for his first ring.
