Caleb Wilson is headed to the NBA.

The North Carolina star announced on Instagram that he’s declaring for the 2026 draft, with The Athletic’s Lindsey Schnell first flagging the news.

No surprise here. Wilson, a 6-foot-10 forward/center, is widely viewed as a top-five pick in June.

He looked the part as a freshman, too. In 24 games, Wilson averaged 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists while shooting 57.8% from the field. He added 1.5 steals and 1.4 blocks per night and earned AP All-America Second Team honors.

Productive. Efficient. Versatile. That’ll play. The only real question mark is health.

Wilson missed the final 10 games of the season after fracturing his left hand, then suffered a broken right thumb that required surgery. He hadn’t played since Feb. 10.

North Carolina felt it. The Tar Heels went 19-5 with Wilson in the lineup and just 5-5 without him, finishing the year on a three-game skid that ended with a first-round NCAA tournament exit.

Either way, Wilson checks a lot of boxes. Size. Skill. Production.

Now he heads to the next level, where teams near the top of the lottery will be taking a long look.
