Cameron Johnson admits his first season with the Nuggets has come with its share of adjustments.
With about a month left in the regular season, Johnson said he is still working through the process of settling into his role, according to Bennett Durando of the Denver Post.
“There’s still an element of figuring it out,” Johnson said.
The veteran forward may be starting to find a groove. He has scored at least 15 points in three straight games, marking just the second time he has done that this season.
Coach David Adelman said the team has encouraged Johnson to simplify his approach.
“I think sometimes he’s trying to make perfect plays,” Adelman said. “Instead of just making the play that’s right there in front of you.”
Johnson will also have an important offseason ahead.
He becomes eligible for a contract extension this summer and is entering the final year of his current deal, which will pay him $23.1 million in 2026-27.
