One NBA analyst proposed that the Philadelphia 76ers trade Paul George to the Milwaukee Bucks for Kyle Kuzma in the offseason.
Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Sixers and Bucks:
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: F Kyle Kuzma, F/C Bobby Portis, G/F Pat Connaughton
Milwaukee Bucks Receive: G/F Paul George, 2027 second-round pick, 2028 second-round pick
“The Sixers should be listening to offers for George, Joel Embiid or both this offseason in an attempt to find some younger, healthier talent around Tyrese Maxey,” Swartz wrote. “Moving George isn’t going to be easy with three years and $162.4 million left on his deal, especially since the veteran forward will turn 35 in May. The Bucks are one franchise that may be desperate enough to win a title and George should theoretically fit well between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. Philly will almost certainly have to throw in some draft capital as well.”
The Sixers will attempt to trade George this offseason, an NBA source told Hoops Wire.
George struggled in his first season with the Sixers after signing a lucrative four-year, $211 million contract with the franchise in July. The veteran averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
Some members of the Sixers wanted George traded at the NBA trade deadline, a league source told Hoops Wire.
George only played in 41 games this season. He received injections in his left adductor muscle and left knee and was ruled out for the rest of the season on March 17.
George’s best basketball is behind him. He turns 35 in May and has a history of lower body injuries.
A California native, George will make $51,666,090 next season and $54,126,380 in 2026-27. He has a player option worth $56,586,670 for the 2027-28 season.
The Bucks acquired Kuzma from the Washington Wizards in February. He’s averaging 13.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists with Milwaukee.
A one-time NBA champion, Kuzma will make $22,410,605 next season and $20,365,152 in 2026-27. He becomes a free agent in 2027.
