The Indiana Pacers are acquiring small forward Doug McDermott in a trade with the San Antonio Spurs, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
In exchange, the Spurs will receive a second-round draft pick, Wojnarowski added. Forward Marcus Morris, who is being acquired in a trade from the 76ers, is also being traded from Indiana to San Antonio, per Shams Charania of The Athletic. The Spurs intend to waive Morris.
McDermott, 32, is actually about to have his second run with the Pacers, having played with the franchise from 2018-21. He is averaging 6.0 points and shooting 44 percent on 3-pointers this season.
Earlier in the day, the Pacers sent shooting guard Buddy Hield to the Philadelphia 76ers, so McDermott should give them some help in the outside shooting department.
