Pacers’ Myles Turner Drawing Interest From Pelicans, Hornets

The Pelicans and Hornets have expressed trade interest in Pacers center Myles Turner, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.Myles Turner

While the Pacers haven’t been aggressive in trying to move Turner, it is believed they are open to the idea. They continue to explore deals centered on the No. 13 overall draft pick, per reports.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans and Hornets are said to be on the lookout for a new man in the middle. New Orleans actually has a few things to figure out, with point guard Lonzo Ball entering restricted free agency and new coach Willie Green looking to implement his own philosophy.

Pelicans chief of basketball operations David Griffin is also said to be looking to trade point guard Eric Bledsoe or center Steven Adams, or both.

Turner, 25, has been at the center of trade rumors for the past several years. He averaged 12.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and a career-high 3.4 blocks in 46 games this past season.

But the Pacers hired a new coach in Rick Carlisle and it remains to be seen what becomes of the roster, as they look to become a true contender in the Eastern Conference.

As for the Hornets, there’s no doubt Turner would be the type of fit to help push them to another level. The question is, what would they have to give up to get him?
