The Pacers have signed guard/forward Nate Hinton to a 10-day contract via the hardship exception, the team announced in a press release.
Hinton, 22, is 6-foot-5 and has spent most of his professional career in the G League after going undrafted out of Houston in 2020. This year, he’s been playing for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, averaging 8.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
He does have some NBA experience, appearing in 21 games with the Mavericks as a rookie. Current Pacers coach Rick Carlisle was Dallas’ coach when Hinton was there.
Hinton is the Pacers’ first hardship signing of the season. Guard/forward Jeremy Lamb just entered health and safety protocols, leading to the Hinton signing.
