The Pacers are waiving point guard Keifer Sykes, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The news coincides with Indiana’s decision to sign two-way guards Duane Washington Jr. and Terry Taylor to multiyear contracts, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Sykes, 28, is 6-foot-0 and has appeared in 32 games this season, his first in the NBA, averaging 5.6 points.
He attended training camp with the Spurs back in 2015, but was waived before the season and spent most of the years after that playing internationally. That included stops in Australia, Greece, Turkey and Italy, as well as with the G League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the Pacers’ affiliate.
Sykes is a former college and high school teammate of free agent forward Alfonzo McKinnie.
