Patrick Beverley Plans To Lock Up Kyle Lowry When Bucks Play 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers traded Patrick Beverley to the Milwaukee Bucks at this year’s NBA trade deadline and signed Kyle Lowry after the veteran was bought out by the Charlotte Hornets.

The Bucks play the Sixers in Philadelphia on February 25 and Beverley said on his podcast that he plans to lock up Lowry. 

“Doc [Rivers] came and got his guy, me. [Nick] Nurse went and got his guy, Kyle,” Beverley said. “But now I see Nurse’s hand. Man, I’m on Kyle’s ass when we play Philly. Straight up. That’s just how it go. That’s just how it go. Like how dare you. But say less.”

Bucks head coach Doc Rivers coached Beverley on the Los Angeles Clippers, while Sixers head coach Nick Nurse coached Lowry on the Toronto Raptors. 

The Bucks are 2-2 with Beverley in the lineup. Meanwhile, the Sixers are 2-2 since trading Beverley, who said on his podcast after getting traded that Daryl Morey told him he wouldn’t get traded at the NBA trade deadline. 

Beverley averaged 6.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.4 blocks with the Sixers while shooting 43.2% from the field, 32.1% from beyond the arc and 81.0% from the free-throw line. Philadelphia went 27-20 with the guard in the lineup. 

In four games with the Bucks, Beverley is averaging 3.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 29.4% overall, 40.0% from 3 and 50.0% from the foul line. 

The Sixers are 32-22 on the season. They are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Meanwhile, the Bucks are 35-21. They are in third place in the East. 

The Miami Heat traded Lowry to the Hornets in the Terry Rozier deal. Lowry averaged 8.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks with the Heat this season before getting traded while shooting 42.6% overall, 38.5% from beyond the arc and 83.3% from the foul line.
