The Pelicans were rumored to be considering trading power forward Zion Williamson, perhaps as part of a deal for the Trail Blazers for the No. 3 pick.
But the sides never spoke. Nor did any side, especially the Pelicans, about potentially trading Williamson, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
“I could not find a general manager who was offered Zion Williamson,” Wojnarowski said on ESPN during the 2023 NBA Draft.
Williamson has even been hanging around the New Orleans practice facility, per Woj, adding that the team continues to want to build around the former No. 1 overall pick.
