The NBA handed down discipline Sunday night, suspending Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado for two games without pay and Suns center Mark Williams for one game following their involvement in a fight during Saturday’s game.
Both players were ejected in the third quarter after a hard foul by Alvarado led to Williams shoving him, sparking a brief altercation that quickly drew teammates and officials into the scrum.
According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks, the suspensions will cost Alvarado roughly $62,000 in salary, while Williams will forfeit about $36,000.
Phoenix went on to win the game 123-114, with Devin Booker leading the way with 20 points.
Alvarado will miss Monday’s game against the Knicks and Wednesday’s contest versus the Bulls. Williams will sit out the Suns’ Monday night matchup with the Wizards.
