The Pelicans are signing guard Tyrone Wallace to a 10-day contract, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Wallace, 27, is 6-foot-5 and was the final pick of the 2016 NBA Draft. As Wojnarowski noted, he’s really erupted in the G League lately, averaging 27 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.9 assists in last 11 games with the Long Island Nets.
Wallace appeared in 32 games with the Clippers in 2017-18, then played 62 the following season. He also played 14 games for the Hawks in 2019-20.
The move comes at the same time as the news that shooting guard CJ McCollum had been placed in health and safety protocols. Also, forward Brandon Ingram is scheduled to miss at least a week with a strained hamstring.
The Pelicans signed forward Alize Johnson to a 10-day deal last week, but that deal is set to expire on Friday.
