The Pelicans are signing undrafted guard/forward Daeqwon Plowden to an Exhibit 10 contract, per Will Guillory of The Athletic.
Plowden, 23, is 6-foot-6 and stood out for the Pelicans at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas after starring at Bowling Green. He “showed off some impressive athleticism and shot 65 percent from the floor” in Vegas, Guillory noted.
He was named first-team All-MAC in each of the past three seasons, and was a member of the conference’s All-Defensive Team this past season.
An Exhibit 10 contract is basically a training camp invite that does not count toward a team’s roster, unless it is converted to a standard or two-way deal.
The Pelicans have one two-way contract available, with G League alum Dereon Seabron reportedly holding down the other.
