The Pelicans have agreed to training camp contracts with free agent guard Jared Harper and center James Banks III, agent Kshaun Daley told JD Shaw of Hoops Rumors.
Harper, 24, is 5-foot-10 and spent his rookie season of 2019-20 on a two-way contract with the Suns. He appeared in eight games last year with the Knicks, with most of his pro experience coming in the G League.
Banks, 23, is 6-10 and went undrafted out of Georgia Tech in 2020. He spent last season playing professionally in Israel and then played for the Cavaliers’ summer team in July.
Both players are on Exhibit 10 deals, meaning they will be strong candidates to join the Birmingham Squadron, the Pelicans’ G-League affiliate. That would make them eligible for a bonus of up to $50,000 should they remain with Birmingham for at least 60 days.
