The Pelicans intend to sign forward Alize Johnson to a 10-day contract, agent George Langberg told to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Johnson, 25, is 6-7 and appeared in 16 games for the Bulls earlier this season. He spent the first two years of his career with the Pacers, and played 18 games for the Nets last season, averaging a career-high 5.2 points.
He was waived by the Bulls on Dec. 26 and has been unsigned since. Per Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors, Johnson’s new contract “will pay him $99,380, with the team taking on a cap hit of $95,930.”
The Pelicans are coming off a blowout road win over the Lakers, and don’t play again until Wednesday. So they likely will wait until then to officially sign Johnson and get the most out of his 10 days.
