The Pelicans have waived point guard Jared Harper and Zylan Cheatham, and signed center James Banks and small forward Malcolm Hill, the team announced in a press release.
Harper, 24, is 5-foot-10 and spent his rookie season of 2019-20 on a two-way contract with the Suns. He appeared in eight games last year with the Knicks, with most of his pro experience coming in the G League.
Banks, 23, is 6-10 and went undrafted out of Georgia Tech in 2020. He spent last season playing professionally in Israel and then played for the Cavaliers’ summer team in July.
Hill, 25, is 6-foot-6 and has played professionally Philippines, Germany, Russia and Israel over the last five seasons. He was a member of the Pelicans’ summer team in August.
All four of the aforementioned players are likely to end up with the Birmingham Squadron, New Orleans’ G League affiliate.
