The Suns are 46-33 on the season. They are in seventh place in the Western Conference standings.

The Los Angeles Clippers were up 37-10 against the Suns last night (4/9) after the first quarter. The Clippers won by a final score of 105-92.

Vogel is in his first season with the Suns, who are 10th in the NBA in points per game, 14th in points per game allowed and 11th in net rating.

“Our offensive toughness, we got to compete for spots,” Vogel said after the Suns lost to the Clippers, via The Athletic. “(We got to) play through physicality better, not just in this game, but in recent games. Teams want to get into us and reroute us and foul us. That’s playoff basketball.

“I’ve had some late-season blowouts on teams that went on deep playoff runs. A bad night for us. We have to turn our attention to (Wednesday.) My team understood the message that I gave them in the locker room. I don’t need to share all that with you.”

The Suns have three games left in the regular season. They face the Clippers, Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves.

“I’ve been here before,” Suns star Devin Booker said. “I’ve had the best record in the NBA and (everyone is) going to say it just matters what you do in the playoffs. We’re a week away from that and that’s where the story starts.”

The Suns have never won a championship in franchise history. They lost to the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 2023 playoffs in six games.

Phoenix traded Chris Paul for Bradley Beal last summer. Beal is averaging 17.6 points this season. He’s appeared in 50 games.

Two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant is averaging 27.3 points this season, while Booker is averaging 27.1 points.
