Pistons shooting guard Alec Burks is receiving trade interest from multiple teams that appear headed for the playoffs, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Burks has been linked to the Cavaliers right here at Hoops Wire, but is also on the radar of several others. Sources told Hoops Wire that the Bucks and Mavericks are also among those interested.
Burks, 31, is having a fine season with the rebuilding Pistons, averaging 14 points and shooting a career-high .477 percent on 3-pointers in 30 games. He has come off the bench in each.
Contract-wise, he’s making $10 million this season with a team option of $10.49 million for next. So as Scotto noted, the Pistons could very well hang onto to Burks until the offseason, or perhaps even the 2024 trade deadline.
Sources have told Hoops Wire the Pistons like Burks’ positive attitude, veteran presence, and overall production, and are in no hurry to move him. But as always, a decent offer could change all that.
The NBA trade deadline is Feb. 9, now less than a month away.
