The Pistons continue to receive inquiries about the No. 1 overall pick, per Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.
That will likely be the case right up until the moment of the NBA Draft, but the Pistons are liking to keep the selection and take Oklahoma State guard Cade Cunningham.
Granted, there has been some talk that the Pistons could take G League Ignite guard Jalen Green, or potentially trade down. But rival executives seem to think Cunningham will ultimately be their man.
“Green had an outstanding workout with Detroit last week that has, at the very least, left some front office members considering the possibilities,” O’Connor wrote. “Still, Cunningham remains the favorite to have his name called first Thursday night.”
Still, Bob Wojnowski of the Detroit News wrote that Pistons general manager Troy Weaver doesn’t always play it safe, and is sure to keep people guessing until the pick is made.
