Pistons Beat Kyle Kuzma’s Wizards, Remember His Viral Jab Amid Win Streak Turnaround

The Pistons are turning over a new leaf this season, and they made a statement on Sunday by securing their seventh win — a mark that last year seemed like an elusive milestone well into February.Kyle Kuzma, Wizards, Pistons, NBA

For a team that endured a historic 28-game losing streak last season, every step forward feels monumental. But this latest victory, a 124-104 drubbing of the Wizards, carried a little extra spice.

Back during those dog days of losing, Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma stirred the pot with a pointed post on X, highlighting the pressure that mounted on opponents not wanting to be the team that broke Detroit’s brutal streak. Kuzma’s jab didn’t go unnoticed by the Pistons, who clearly kept that receipt for a rainy day.

Fast forward to Sunday, and it was time for Detroit to dish out some well-earned payback. Behind Cade Cunningham’s masterful triple-double — 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists — the Pistons dominated Kuzma’s Wizards, sending Washington to their eighth straight loss.

Kuzma’s own effort of 22 points and six boards wasn’t enough to counter Detroit’s newfound resolve.

Just two-and-a-half weeks earlier, the Pistons had already bested Washington 129-117, with Kuzma contributing 21 points in that one.

Detroit’s resurgence hasn’t just been about wins and reclaiming pride and proving that last season’s narrative is ancient history. New coach J.B. Bickerstaff certainly has something to do with that.

March 2025 will bring another chapter in this budding rivalry, but for now, the Pistons are relishing their revenge tour.
