The Pistons have officially acquired point guard Monte Morris in a trade with the Wizards, both teams announced.
This was the second official trade of the day for the Pistons, who also officially landed guard/forward Joe Harris from the Nets.
Morris, 28, was caught in a logjam of guards in Washington after the team traded for Jordan Poole and Tyus Jones. Second-year man Johnny Davis is also expected to receive more time.
The Wizards will receive a second-round pick from the Pistons and create a $9.8 million trade exception as part of the deal. As we relayed last week, small forward Kyle Kuzma is returning to the Wizards on a four-year deal. (Full story)
Meanwhile, the Pistons are adding veteran depth to their own backcourt in Morris, who will back up starter Cade Cunningham.
