The Pistons are signing free agent guard Carsen Edwards to a two-year contract, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Edwards, 24, has been playing for the Salt Lake City Stars of the G League, and tearing it up to the tune of 26.7 points a game.
He spent two years with the Celtics after being the No. 33 overall draft pick in 2019, but this is his first NBA contract of the season. Edwards was waived by the Grizzlies after being part of the Kris Dunn trade with the Celtics in September.
As we relayed earlier, the Pistons are also signing Braxton Key to a two-way contract (via JD Shaw).
The Pistons have a roster opening with Key’s contract expiring, but both two-way slots are currently filled, so another move will be necessary before he can be signed,” wrote Arthur Hill of Hoops Rumors. “Chris Smith and Jamorko Pickett currently hold those spots.”
