The Pistons have agreed to a two-year contract with second-round pick Luke Garza, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Garza, 22, is a 6-foot-11 center and was selected with the No. 52 overall pick out of Iowa. As Charania noted, he has fared well in the Las Vegas Summer League.
Players on two-way deals can appear in up to 50 NBA games, spending the rest of their time in the G League.
Garza is a former two-time Big Ten Player of the Year award winner, averaging 24.1 points and 8.7 rebounds in 31 games last season. He was twice named first team All-American.
In four summer league games, Garza averaged 13.5 points and 8.3 boards.
Isaiah Stewart, Kelly Olynyk and Trey Lyles are the Pistons’ primary players in the pivot.
