The NBA In-Season Tournament is back, only this time with a new name. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the NBA Cup.
This year, the Cup begins on Nov. 12, with the championship slated for Dec. 17 in Las Vegas. Last year, the Lakers defeated the Pacers for the In-Season Tournament title.
While this year’s event doesn’t begin until next month, multiple teams have already released their colorful floors. Their NBA Cup uniforms will be released here soon, too.
Last year, even those who thought the In-Season tourney was a bad idea still seemed intrigued. This year, for Act II, a lot of fans seem apathetic.
But how about you? Do you care or still think it’s kind of a cool concept? Or has your interest waned? Vote in our poll below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

According to Nat Newell of The Indianapolis Star:
“The winners of the six groups plus two wild cards (the team from each conference with the best record in Group Play that finished second in its group) advance to the quarterfinals on Dec. 10 and 11. The semifinals are Dec. 14 and the finals Dec. 17 in Las Vegas.”
It seems to me that most people don’t really understand the purpose of the NBA Cup. Neither do I. Though it’s pretty evident the league is trying to generate interest at a time when ratings are way down (thank you, NFL). So I don’t blame NBA commissioner Adam Silver for at least trying.
