Arizona guard/forward Bennedict Mathurin intends to declare for the 2022 NBA Draft, per Jonathan Givony of ESPN.
Mathurin is 6-foot-6 and earner Pac-12 Player of the Year honors as a sophomore, averaging 17.7 points and 5.6 rebounds in 37 games. As Givony noted, Mathurin is considered a potential lottery pick.
A native of Montreal, Mathurin is listed as the No. 11 overall draft prospect on ESPN’s ranking of the top 100.
“He fits an obvious mold as a strong-framed, 6-foot-6 wing who can space the floor from well beyond the NBA line, shoot running off screens or pulling up off the dribble, and finish explosively in the open floor,” ESPN wrote. “He also has made strides as a ball handler and passer, while still only being 19 years old.”
NBADraft.net has the Trail Blazers holding the No. 11 pick ahead of the actual lottery to determine the order of the top 14 picks.
