The Raptors are signing guard Tremont Waters to a 10-day contract via the hardship exemption, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
This news follows an update from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who reported that guards Fred VanVleet and Malachi Flynn have entered health and safety protocols. VanVleet and Flynn join teammates Dalano Banton, Pascal Siakam and Gary Trent Jr. on the sidelines.
Waters, 23, is 5-foot-10 and has been playing for the Wisconsin Herd of the G League. He was originally drafted by the Celtics out of LSU in the second round (No. 51 overall) of the 2019 draft.
He appeared in 37 games with the Celtics from 2019-21, averaging 3.8 points and 2.1 assists. He is averaging around 18.3 points and 7.0 assists with the Herd, the Bucks’ minor-league affiliate.
