The Toronto Raptors had been discussing a trade centered on forward OG Anunoby for some time, with the New York Knicks being among the first, as relayed by Michael Grange of SportsNet.
The teams had been in discussions since Dec. 11, when the Knicks beat the Raptors in New York, Grange noted. The Raptors then discussed Anunoby trades with several other teams at the G League Showcase in Orlando before circling back to New York, per Grange.
News that the sides agreed to a deal came out on Saturday, with Toronto sending Anunoby, forward Precious Achiuwa and guard Malachi Flynn to New York for wing RJ Barrett, guard Immanuel Quickley and a second-round pick.
Of course, as we relayed here, the Raptors may not be done. They still may look to trade big man Pascal Siakam, another player eligible for unrestricted free agency after the season.
