The Raptors intend to sign and waive point guard Ashton Hagans and combo guard Breein Tyree, according to Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.
Hagans, 22, is 6-foot-3 and went undrafted out of Kentucky in 2020. He signed a two-way deal with the Timberwolves last season, but was released in February after violating the NBA’s COVID-19 protocols.
As Murphy noted, Hagans was a member of the Raptors’ summer squad, but missed time with an ankle injury.
Tyree, 23, is 6-2 and went undrafted out of Mississippi in 2020. He spent last season with Raptors 905 of the G League.
“(Tyree) is a returning 905er who gets a bonus this way,” Murphy wrote. “He’s working his way back from a torn ACL.”
