Report: Arturus Karnisovas’ future with Bulls in question

The Bulls are expected to evaluate the future of executive vice president Arturas Karnisovas after the team missed the playoffs for a fourth consecutive season, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

Chicago has reached the postseason just once during Karnisovas’ tenure — a first-round exit in 2022 — and has struggled to establish a clear direction in recent years. Stein reports that internal meetings to determine Karnisovas’ status are expected to take place in the near future.

Despite potential changes in the front office, the Bulls are believed to have interest in retaining head coach Billy Donovan.

Chicago previously denied a request from the Knicks to interview Donovan last offseason before signing him to a multiyear extension.

Donovan has recently been linked to the North Carolina head coaching vacancy. However, Stein notes that Donovan is expected to wait until after the regular season ends on April 12 before engaging in discussions, while UNC may prefer to move more quickly in its search.
