Anthony Davis may be one of the biggest names on the market, but the interest level doesn’t match the résumé.

According to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, there simply aren’t “a lot of teams” eager to trade for the Mavericks star, who is owed massive money deep into his mid-30s.

Davis makes $54.1 million this season, $58.5 million next year, and holds a $62.8 million player option for 2027-28.

“You talk to people in the league, there’s not a lot of teams that are lining up to take on a 35-year-old Anthony Davis making $63 million,” Bontemps said. “And you have to assume that he’s gonna opt into that deal.”

Davis, acquired in last season’s blockbuster Luka Doncic trade, has appeared in just 14 games with Dallas. He’s been productive when available — 20.3 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.9 blocks — but availability remains the sticking point.

He’s played only five games this season and is currently out with a left calf strain.

The 10-time All-Star turns 33 in March and remains one of the best two-way talents of his era, with career averages of 24.1 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks across stints with the Pelicans, Lakers and Mavericks.

But the money, the injuries and the uncertainty are driving the conversation.

Dallas is expected to work with Davis’ camp as they evaluate in-season trade possibilities. Rich Paul represents Davis, who does not have a no-trade clause.

One more wrinkle. The few teams kicking the tires reportedly want Davis to shed some weight to regain the mobility that made him such a dominant force.

In other words, Davis might still move. But the market isn’t what it used to be.
