Report: Kings Could Trade DeMar DeRozan This Summer

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Sacramento Kings could trade DeMar DeRozan this summer.

The Kings and general manager Monte McNair parted ways in April. Sacramento hired longtime NBA exec Scott Perry.

The Kings fired Mike Brown as head coach and traded All-Star point guard De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs this season.

Zach LaVine, a two-time All-Star, was acquired by Sacramento from the Chicago Bulls in the Fox trade.

DeRozan and LaVine were teammates in Chicago. DeRozan, a future Hall of Famer, has played for the Toronto Raptors, Spurs, Bulls and Kings, while LaVine has played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Bulls and Kings.

DeRozan appeared in 77 games this season. He averaged 22.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists while shooting 47.7% from the field, 32.8% from beyond the arc and 85.7% from the free-throw line.

A USC product, DeRozan will make $24,750,000 next season and $25,740,000 in 2026-27, the final year of his contract.

The 35-year-old DeRozan has career averages of 21.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists. He’s made six All-Star teams and three All-NBA teams.
