The Mavericks are holding firm when it comes to Anthony Davis.

According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, Dallas has made it clear it is not interested in simply shedding Davis’ contract and would only consider a trade if it receives a “return of real consequence.” Fischer notes the Mavericks view Davis as a core piece acquired in last season’s Luka Doncic deal and are unwilling to move him without meaningful value coming back.

Davis is earning $54.1 million this season, with $58.5 million owed next year and a $62.8 million player option for 2027-28. Fischer adds that Dallas sees his contract as comparable to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s in Milwaukee, reinforcing the organization’s reluctance to sell low.

The Mavericks are expected to work with Davis’ camp, led by agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group, as they continue to evaluate in-season options, per reports.

Interest around the league does exist. Fischer reports that teams such as Toronto and Atlanta have been monitoring Davis, though any potential deal would hinge on price and long-term outlook.

Davis has appeared in 20 games for Dallas since the blockbuster trade, averaging 20.0 points and 10.5 rebounds. He has been limited to 11 games this season due to a left calf injury.
