The list of opposing teams interested in a trade for guard Eric Gordon has diminished, with just several contenders now showing interest.
Among those still in the mix, per Kelly Iko of The Athletic: The Clippers and Suns. As Iko noted, the 76ers showed interest over the summer, but any offers were shot down by the Rockets, and it seems that the asking price remains high.
“Houston knows Gordon’s position on this matter,” Iko wrote. “He’s made his preference for a trade known to management at different points starting as far back as last offseason, sources said — but has been professional and played his role throughout his time in a Rockets uniform.”
- Pe Hoops Wire sources, Gordon is also drawn at least exploratory interest from the Celtics, Raptors and Heat.
- Gordon isn’t the only name being discussed for the Rockets. Per Iko, forward Jae’Sean Tate has been mentioned in trade talks, too. Tate is on the radar of the Wizards, Nuggets, Celtics and Suns, Iko reported.
- For the record, the Rockets aren’t looking to trade Tate, “but as is the case with any player, if there was a ‘can’t-turn-down’ type offer, it would be considered,” Iko wrote.
- Finally, another name making the rounds in trade rumors belongs to forward K.J. Martin. There is no shortage of interest, with Martin previously being linked to the Suns. Along with everything else, the Rockets have been mentioned as a third team to help Suns forward Jae Crowder land with the Bucks.
