The Rockets have officially waived point guard John Wall, the team announced in a press release.
Wall was acquired from the Clippers at the trade deadline after signing in Los Angeles over the summer. He spent last season with the Rockets, though did not play as Houston sought a trade.
In 34 games this season, he has averaged 11.4 points and 5.2 assists, shooting 41 percent from the field. The No.1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, Wall is sure to draw interest after clearing waivers and entering free agency.
Several sources suggested he could return to the Wizards, the team with which he spent the first nine years of his career.
Along with Wall, the Rockets announced they had waived shooting guard Danny Green, acquired from the Grizzlies. Green will reportedly sign with the Cavaliers, as we relayed here.
