The Rockets have signed undrafted Northwest Missouri State point guard Trevor Hudgins to a two-way contract, the team announced in a press release.
Hudgins, 23, is 6-foot-0 and is the back-to-back Division II Player of the Year recipient. He averaged 23.0 points and 4.3 assists this past season, shooting 90 percent on free throws.
Hudgins and the Bearcats won three national championships during his time there — 2019, 2021 and 2022. Some have called him the best Division II player in history.
Two-way players are destined to spend most of their time in the G League, though they can appear in up to 50 NBA games before signing a standard deal.
Hudgins will get a chance to compete against others vying to make an NBA roster when the Las Vegas summer league tips off on July 7.
