Several playoff contenders have free agent forward Stanley Johnson on their radar, per Shams Charania of The Athletic on FanDuelTV.
Johnson, 26, is 6-foot-6 and appeared in 30 games with the Spurs, averaging 5.8 points and 3.2 rebounds, shooting 53 percent from the field and 45 percent on 3-pointers. San Antonio waived him on Feb. 12 and he has since cleared waivers.
“I do think there is enough interest in him among the contending teams and playoff contenders that he should be getting picked up at some point this season,” Charania said.
Johnson signed with San Antonio in December after being waved by the Jazz before the season. Johnson was acquired by Utah as part of the trade with the Lakers involving guards Talen Horton-Tucker (from Lakers) and Patrick Beverley (from Jazz to Lakers).
The No. 8 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, he has also spent time with the Pistons, Pelicans and Raptors.
