With Stephen Curry set to miss at least five more games because of his lingering knee issue, the question around the Warriors is shifting.
Namely, is total patience the smarter play?
Golden State sits 4.5 games behind the sixth-seeded Lakers and 7.5 games ahead of the 11th-place Grizzlies. With positioning relatively stable, perhaps the Warriors should consider holding Curry out until the play-in tournament, writes Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area.
“It’s just something that you don’t want to have lingering because it can get worse,” Curry said of the injury.
The Warriors have already ruled out shutting him down for the season. But with the standings margin what it is, caution may ultimately win out. At least until the play-in, anyway.
