The 76ers have signed center Dewayne Dedmon, president of basketball operations Daryl Morey announced in a team press release.
While terms weren’t detailed, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that Dedmon’s deal is good for the remainder of the season.
was acquired by the Spurs in a trade with the Heat on Feb. 7, then subsequently waived. Philadelphia has been looking for depth in the frontcourt to help relieve All-Star center Joel Embiid, and Dedmon fits the bill.
Dedmon, 33, is 7-foot-0 and has appeared in 30 games, averaging 5.7 points and 3.6 rebounds.
He has also spent time with the Hawks, Kings, Magic, Warriors and this will serve as his second stint with the 76ers. He had been in his third season with the Heat before the trade.
