The 76ers have shown interest in Jazz power forward Jarred Vanderbilt ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, per Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.
As has been the case for most of the season, the Sixers have been looking to add depth to the frontcourt behind center Joel Embiid and forwards P.J. Tucker and Tobias Harris. Vanderbilt is among the bigs across the league who are reportedly available.
Vanderbilt, 23, is 6-foot-9 and was acquired by the Jazz before the season in the Rudy Gobert trade with the Timberwolves. He is averaging 8.3 points and 7.9 rebounds, shooting 56 percent from the field in 52 games (through Friday).
He is mostly known for his ability to capably defend each of the three frontcourt spots, an energy guy and a good man to have in the locker room.
It is believed the Jazz would like a late first-round pick as part of a return.
