Things are good in Philadelphia. But they’re not perfect. So naturally, the 76ers will explore some trades, and it appears they have guys who are likely available in mind.
Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Sixers are keeping a close eye on Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine and Toronto Raptors forward OG Anunoby.
More specifically, Charania said on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back: “Zach LaVine, OG Anunoby, those are two names to keep an eye on as guys that Philadelphia has monitored.”
So while that was stated in the past tense (“monitored”), you can be sure Philadelphia head of basketball operations Daryl Morey still is keeping a watchful eye on LaVine, Anunoby and others.
And why not? While the Sixers are near the top of the Eastern Conference, you again can’t help but wonder if they have enough to overtake the Boston Celtics or Milwaukee Bucks in the long run — even with the likes of Joel Embiid and rising Tyrese Maxey. Landing a third borderline All-Star-type could help put them over the top.
For the record, the Bulls and LaVine are reportedly looking to part ways. The Raptors, meanwhile, are highly likely to play hardball in any negotiations involving Anunoby, with hoops history as our guide.
