The 76ers have officially signed center Mo Bamba, the team announced in a press release.
The deal is for the veteran’s minimum, per Kyle Neubeck of the Philly Voice.
Bamba, 25, was waived by the Lakers on June 29 and is expected to provide some extra insurance behind All-Star Joel Embiid in Philadelphia.
It’s been quite the journey for Bamba in 2023. He was traded to the Lakers by the Magic in February, then promptly got injured, appearing in just nine games with LA.
Before that, he averaged 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds in 40 games with the Magic, offering some strong defense near the basket. That said, he’s been inconsistent in all areas and is little more than a perimeter shooter on offense.
