The 76ers have signed small forward Braxton Key to a 10-day contract via the hardship exception, the team announced in a press release.
Key, 24, is 6-foot-8 and spent the first part of the season with the Delaware Blue Coats of the G League, where he averaged 13.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 15 games.
A former NCAA champion at Virginia, Key undrafted in 2020, then signed with the Blue Coats the following January. He was signed and waived by the 76ers this past Oct. 13.
Key joins shooting guard Charlie Brown Jr. as Philadelphia players on hardship contracts. It currently has five players in health and safety protocols.
The 76ers, of course, are still figuring out what to do with guard/forward Ben Simmons, who has been sitting out the season in search of a trade.
