The 76ers have signed undrafted forward Michael Foster Jr., the team announced in a press release.
Foster, 19, is 6-foot-8 and appeared in 13 games with the Ignite last season, averaging 14.8 points and 8.8 rebounds.
While details of the contract weren’t released, it is likely an Exhibit 10 deal.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a contract that counts toward the offseason roster limit of 20, but does not count toward the salary cap unless the player makes the team. “A player on an Exhibit 10 contract is also eligible for a bonus worth up to $50K if he’s waived and then becomes an affiliate player for his team’s G League squad,” explained Rory Maher of Hoops Rumors.
Either way, Foster was considered one of the top undrafted prospects, ranked No. 3 on ESPN’s list. He is currently playing for the Sixers’ summer squad.
