The 76ers have waived shooting guard Trevelin Queen, the team announced in a press release.
Queen, 25, is 6-foot-6 and was named G League MVP last season with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He actually signed a two-year deal with the 76ers with a partial guarantee of $330,000.
This is the third straight year he’s been in an NBA training camp, only to be waived before the season. It also happened last season with the Lakers, then the Rockets before that.
But the Rockets signed him to a two-way contract in December, and he appeared in 10 games, averaging 4.3 points on 46 percent shooting.
As for the Sixers, waiving Queen meant avoiding a $198,000 tax charge, per Derek Bodnar.
